Water Safety Instructor Class

The purpose of this instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program including Parent and Child Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, Learn-to-Swim, Adult Swim, Private Lessons, Water Safety Courses (including Safety Training for Swim Coaches) and Water Safety Presentations.

Participants will be required to pass a swimming skills test;
If you are unable to demonstrate these skills you will not be able to continue in the class. Practice beforehand is highly recommended.

After you have registered for this course, you will be sent a confirmation email, which will include a link to the required online video learning that will need to be completed before the first day of class. You will need to sign-up via a link you will be sent prior to the prerequisite swim. You will need to complete the online training prior to class first full day of class.

You will need to bring your “American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor’s Manual & American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Manual” to class. Manual pick up is available on the first day of class from the instructor. Visit instructorscorner.org/WSIcandidates to access digital materials and online prerequisites.

On time attendance at all class and water sessions is required for successful course completion. Please bring a sack lunch, snacks, towels, suit (one piece for girls), and dry clothes to class. No cell phones in class.

Cancellation Policy

In order to give a partial refund, we must receive registration cancellation requests 7 days prior to the start of the event. No refunds will be given after class has begun. A $15 processing fee will be charged for any registrant initiated cancellation.
If you are unable to attend, please be courteous and cancel your registration early to allow others the opportunity to attend.
